about.
For few years I have been working on a photography project centered around self-acceptance, carnality, physicality and nudity. I began in 2019 by photographing women and people with the experience of living as a woman. I focused on photographing individuals who are not professional models and often have no prior posing/modeling experience. My goal was to capture the naturalness and uniqueness of each body. By asking regular people to model for me, I wanted to focus on their authentic selves and show that attracting the camera's attention can be a positive experience. Initially, my models often felt shy and uncomfortable in front of the camera, worried about whether their bodies looked good enough to be subjects of interest. However, over the course of the session, they gradually opened up to me, sharing their relationships with their bodies and how others reacted to them. This quasi photo and therapeuthic experience allowed me to challenge myslef, but also challange contemporary cultural tendencies to beautify the body and hide perceived imperfections.
